The slide attack is changing volleyball from a vertical game to a horizontal game. In the Slide, the hitter jumps off of one foot and travels laterally along the net to a specified zone before striking the ball. This forces the blockers to move their feet and reach to block the attack, rather than jumping straight up to block the attack. This videotape covers three areas of the slide attack: mechanics, progressive drills, and attacking options, including using the slide off serve receive and in transition. Also included are tips for setting a good slide, even if the pass moves the setter forward off the net.
